Spoke too soon, damnit!

Well, Comcast screwed me over and I guess I actually won't have reliable internet until Sunday. I was more than a little upset by this and believe I actually used the phrase, "Do you know who you're talking to??" while on the phone with one of their technicians. This is especially bad news because my friend Alec is shivering in the cold right now, awaiting an official coat recommendation from me. COMCAST, IF ALEC LOSES HIS FINGERS IT'S ON YOUR CONSCIENCE!

I've been able to get teeny slices of internet at the library and so forth, so I'll try to get a couple more posts up this week, but if things are slow, you'll know why. And Alec, dear Alec, don't pull a Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic and freeze to death, leaving me no choice but to say, "I'll never let go, Alec," as I drop your frigid body into the Atlantic. (Sidenote: did it annoy anyone else that she says "I'll never let go" as she lets him go? I mean, I get the metaphor, but isn't that sort of like saying "I won't shoot you" as you pull the trigger? Harsh.)

Praying for internet and warm weather,
Winona

I, too, find myself unbelievably frustrated with Comcast for delaying your regular postings further. I check your blog several times a day and have missed the regular uploads. And, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES, I hate that line in Titanic. ...So much so that is ruins the supposed "tragically romantic" scene I think they were aiming for and only serves to anger me.

Dude, I completely agree on the Titanic reference. I always founf that super irritating, all 5 times that I watched that movie in the theatres. haha!

I may be one of the only women in the world who think this, but Titanic is one of the most boring, dumbest movies ever. I have only been able to sit through it once. That whole ocean scene pissed me off, they did all that to make it off the boat alive, only for her to let him freeze to death in the water?? WTF!

As for your regular posting, I can hardly complain, since my blog posting is spotty at best. I'm trying to get better. Although I cannot imagine life for days on end without internet! You poor girl... That is exactly why I pay for unlimited internet on my cell phone. I get it any way I can.

actually it annoyed me more that he SUNK. i mean sure it adds to the dramatic effect, but scientifically speaking, dead bodies are supposed to float, especially FROZEN dead bodies.

Leo looked like a 15-year old girl back then, but looks quite manly now.

@ Comcast. Next time use my name. You should get faster service.

Stay strong, my sister, stay strong!!!

did anyone else ever notice that when she says "i'll never let go," there is a horrendous cracking noise? i totally thought she broke off his hand the first time i saw it (so she'd never have to let go). and have basically remained traumatized ever since.

I totally hated that part of Titanic too. Totally ruined it for me.

Winona, it didn't matter, we all walked out of that theater a ball of tears and frizzy hair, even when we swore going IN to the theater and seeing other people come out like that that such a thing would not happen to US.

Winona, don't feel bad about the comcast thing--trust me, people have it much worse than you. Not that they are important, cause after all; you are running the Daddy Likey Fashion Blog [they aren't].

And by other people I mean me...cause I have dial-up.

I also totally know what you mean with the Titanic thing, and if you remember correctly, the same girl also drops that priceless jewel into the ocean at the end of the movie (or was it the beginning?). Who would honestly be that clumsy?

She's just dropping everything into the Atlantic.

I have to agree with peajai...Titanic is awfully boring, over-the-top mushy, and also historically innacurate. I only watched it at the movies bc all my friends thought I was totally crazy NOT to want to see it, and back in the day I was susceptible to peer pressure, so I ended up going. The worst thing about that dumb film is definitely the Celine Dion theme song. YUCK!

Um, yes! I hate that line. And in response to whoever said he should have floated: Thank You. All the other dead bodies are floating and Jack sinks to the bottom of the ocean. Very realistic.

I caught the very scene on TV this weekend. I yelled at the TV "THEN DON'T LET HIM GO!" and my fiance called me a freak.
