Advanced Fashion Quiz!

One of the shoes below is from the Marc by Marc Jacobs spring 2010 collection. The other is a jester shoe from fantasyshoe.com. Can you guess which is which?

(Click on the photos to see their origins)

p.s. Thanks so much to Kate for alerting me to the existence of these shoes in an email titled, "WTF Marc Jacobs?!"

p.p.s.s. Doesn't it kind of look like top shoe exploded? It makes me a little sad when I look at it.

Totally guessed wrong. That's crazy - I can't wait to see who's wearing them on the street.

Is it just me, or is the jester shoe way cuter than the Marc Jacobs?

wow, marc jacobs. wow. that is truly hideous.

Wow. I'm usually pretty good at these, but this one almost stumped me. Yikes. Marc, Marc, Marc, you are off your game!

Whoa, gross shoe, Marc Jacobs. I feel bad for the person wearing Uggs who spontaneously combusted and inspired this creation.

It really does look like the top shoe was just a regular shoe, but then the person wearing it was blasted into the air in a comical manner, causing only their tattered shoes to be standing behind, perhaps with some smoke coming out of them. It's a cartoon slapstick story told in a single piece of footwear!

Indeed, wtf?

There are strange fashions nowadays. I can't wait to see label-whore fashionistas wear them simply because it's Marc Jacobs.

Why, Marc, WHYYYYY?!

It is a bit...odd.

I'm guessing the brown one is the jesters shoe ... just cause the other is so crazy. :-)

I once dressed as a jester on Halloween. Not a sexy jester either. I had those shoes and a hat. It was so demoralizing.

This one was a goodie. I totally didn't have a clue until I looked at the links.

I definitely prefer the jester shoe...the Marc Jacobs looks like someone put a pipebomb in a pair of my mom's slippers.

I don't know who I'm embarrassed for right now, but I am definitely embarrassed for someone.

I guessed correctly. Is that good or bad?
*shudder*

I think it's a rip off of Jan Jansen, a Dutch shoe designer. He makes these kind of shoes. I don't like them, but they're considered very high fashion & designer-y. See: http://www.janjansenshoes.com/

This is excellent! We've been compared to Marc Jacobs! Thanks to all who've commented (both good and bad ;), and special thanks to Winona (our traffic has just gone through the roof!).

I see that shoes on fantasy movies. Is that for sale? Can I buy one? There is coming costume party this month and my kid’s wants to be there. That shoe is going to be perfect for her character.

I guessed right. The smooth look of the top shoe just seemed very Marc Jacobs to me.

You are so right in saying it looks like the top of it exploded. I partially expect to see a brutally mangled foot blown off at the ankle protruding from the fringe.

OMG I guessed wrong truely wtf Marc Jacobs! I would much rather wear the Fantasy Shoe one...not that I would but if I had to choose it would not be MJ

I don't think I'll click the links.. I'd rather go on not knowing. I like the constant guessing game :]

SERIOUSLY? Seriously? All the wonder and majesty of the universe to choose from, and they went with that.

Well, thanks. I think part of my soul just died.
