Three Easy Steps to an Apartment-Sized, Recession-Proof, Patriotic Christmas Tree

1. Go to the discount grocery store down the street. Buy a potted mini tree for $4.95. Buy a box of mini ornaments for $1.98.

2. Decorate with necklaces, earrings, and leftover campaign buttons.

3. Put it on your windowsill with a snowstorm as a backdrop.

LOL I love how Obama is your tree-topper! Since it's a live one, where are you planning to plant it after Christmas?

Adorable! And you have snow!

I think you should replace Obama with a drunken South African angel. Or a live mouse.

yay for creative christmas trees! mine is covered in origami, failed jewellery-making projects, free drink tokens, fake fruit, and weird little dolls and toys.

I LOVE this.

I had to have a really cheap-o Christmas tree this year because my cat is a PSYCHO and would love nothing more than to tear down/eat an expensive tree.

I could do a nice all-jewelry tree. Most expensive tinsel ever!

The most awesome Christmas tree ever, complete with a different sort of a bright shining star on top.

So is this where I report that my mother has set up seven of our (plastic) Christmas trees? The most we've ever done is fifteen, but she cut down this year to only a few of the themed ones.

We kind of love Christmas.

Very retro, yet forward.

At that size, it's even portable! Take Christmas with you wherever you go.
