Remember how, awhile back, I used shaky impulse-buying logic to convince myself that these jeans would save my life?
Well, today I took a wrong turn on my walk home from the coffee shop, and within minutes, found myself edging along the shoulder of a 50 mile-an-hour road in the pitch dark, balancing my completely impractical Betsy Johnson laptop bag and an overstuffed purse between speeding traffic and a drainage ditch. As I approached a blind curve, I prepared to hurl myself into the abyss to avoid certain death, but then, the beam of oncoming headlights caught my jeans, and suddenly my legs were glowing brighter than a safety vest. I was visible, invincible! The yellow denim lit my way home; oh yes, these pants saved my life.

You look SO cute!! And i'm glad you're alive.
I think you should promote these as a uniform change for Oregon Road Crews for fashion and safety. They're certainly more hip.
If the Sisterhood wore these Traveling Pants, they'd be a lot cooler! (Except Rory; she's cool no matter what she wears.)(And I know her real name is Alexis, but I still call her Rory.)
You were my hero before this, but now nobody else even comes close.
god bless illogical impulse buys. sadly, i don't think my blue suede bertie heels will ever save my life...maybe they'll just snag me a rich husband and save me from poverty.
They're great on you!
I'm glad you're pants "worked." Worked as in they avoided you from a terrible accident. And worked - Tim Gunn style.
I love that you have
a) framed Volkswagen ads and
b) a pink bust of Beethoven.
"...these pants saved my life..."
*hahaha!* AND they look cute, too! I like the rolled hems + pumps!
um, you definitely make it work.
p.s. the verification code down below is "mudderk."
Those jeans are AWESOME.
I. Want. Those. SHOES! Please oh please, where did you get them? Are they available anywhere in the Northeast? Being on different coasts, we will never run into each other accidentally wearing them at the same time. Oh and I saw those jeans recently at J. Crew but they were not my size. Bummer.
The jeans look great on you! I notice your post says Attempt #1...are you going to document subsequent attempts to wear these jeans and what happened to you while wearing them? Inquiring minds want to know!
The betsey johnson laptop bag IS INDEED the most impractical bag I have ever owned lol
Geez, Winona, it is A GOOD THING YOU BOUGHT THOSE life-saving jeans. We'd all be crying into our keyboards if you'd be come roadkill ... eesh, makes me shudder to think of it!
This explains why no one was struck by oncoming cars in the 80s!
I really like this outfit, and I'm glad the jeans fulfilled their purpose!
Add these jeans to the list of things for which I would have knocked you down in the elevator.
Also love that you have an NG in the shot. And my verification word is dittedc.
Nice product placement there too for your upcoming publications, babe ;) Glad you made it home safe, you and your little jeans, too! *insert wicked witch of the west cackle here*
I like them on you. Cute outfit.
and they're cute too!
HAHHAHAH I'm glad to hear you're ok! You look like a million bucks in that look..it suits you :)
let's just... be best friends. thanks.
Now you have the rationale to back up your purchase. Maybe this rationale came after the fact, but in the end, who cares when rationale arrives, as long as it arrives?
Hooray for neon yellow jeans.
This is the 2nd time I'm commenting because I was on the UO website and I saw these SLIM (yes SLIM, HALLELUJAH, not skinny) jeans and thought of your quest for slim but not skinny jeans:

Just to let you know, I featured you on my blog for an I LOVE YOUR BLOG award.
This might be weird to note, but do you have badass Liz Taylor violet eyes? Or are those incredibly awesome contacts? Either way, I'm jealous.
echidna girl--
I'll definitely let the state of Oregon know about this fabulous idea!

I still call her Rory too! Yes!

I totally believe blue suede bootie heels will save your life and make you rich!
Beth--
The shoes are BCBGirls from Macy's, and I got them in Washington DC. Check ebay for sure, and good luck!

Best. comment. ever.
Whitney--
I'm glad I got the hell out of there before you could assault me in the elevator!
Kristen--
Deal!
KD--
Those are SO cute! I'm looking at my finances now to see if I can add them to my closet...
Emma--
I wish! I have green eyes. I think the red eye corrector on my photo editor makes me have Liz Taylor eyes, and I'm OK with that.
Haha you always have the most hilarious stories!
I saw something on E! News tonight about how brightly colored jeans are the newest Hollywood fashion craze. They showed bright blue, red, dark purple... but said the coolest new color, for only the bravest trend setters, is bright yellow. You've had these jeans for months, no? You are SO ahead of your time, love!
Oh this post elicited a legit laugh out of me after a poopy evening. Yay for yellow jeans! You rock the hell out of them, hands down.
I LOVE yellow jeans. My favorite pair got ruined on a rainy muddly trek through Florence and I've yet to replace them. Too bad I missed the J. Crew sale!
They look fab on you!
