So perhaps you've noticed the badge in the sidebar, but just in case you haven't heard the news: OMG DADDY LIKEY IS A FINALIST FOR BEST FASHION BLOG IN THE 2008 WEBLOG AWARDS! This is kind of a huge deal, and I want to say THANK YOU to my beautiful, anonymous nominators and everyone who has voted for me so far.
If you haven't voted yet (or within the last 24 hours, to be exact), please go here and show your support for Daddy Likey. I'm currently losing to the Fug Girls by about 9,000 votes, but hey, who doesn't love an underdog?? You will have my eternal gratitude, and if you ever come to Oregon, I will buy you a cup of coffee. (Seriously, we have great coffee here.)
And if you don't want to do it for me, please, do it for Martin:
p.s. WendyB, one of my worthy opponents, has been running an extremely persuasive, impassioned campaign, and while I'd prefer she quit leaving bloody laptops in my bed, I've gotta give her props. Wendy, I hope we can put this competition behind us when I run for congress, because I'm gonna need you as my campaign manager/jewelry consultant.

I've voted for you three times already! I love Daddy Likey!
You are exceedingly gracious W! That WendyB is on a campaign of the ages. I'm gonna go and vote for you (but don't tell) :-)
I'm voting for you like it's my job! And not because I want free coffee, but because I LOVE YOU!
xo
Catherine
I do have a thing for underdogs. But I have an even bigger thing for underraccoons - so I'll go vote for you right now.
I have voted at home AND work! Good luck, I love a good underdog story!
K.Line, I'm right here. I can hear you!
Winona, I definitely feel that after this experience, I will be ready for the political arena, so let me know when I have to start raising funds and registering voters on your behalf.
omg you're so funny! I laugh at the bloody laptops part...but, a question: what does "underdog" mean, exactly? I'm italian and sometimes it's difficult to understand some words...and dictionaries don't help a lot!
Tnx...
Silvia
Oooh, I didn't know you can vote more than once. But just in case they keep track of where the votes are coming from, I will wait until tomorrow to vote again at work.
If it wasn't for Daddy Likey, I wouldn't even KNOW about Go Fug, or many other things for that matter. Good luck!
Go Winona!
P.S. Thanks for the sweet Facebook wall message!
Voted!!!! I hope you win Winona!
Which other blog talk about chochaa repetitively for the rest of the world amusement?
Not many my friend...not many....
I sent a memo around work suggesting VERY STRONGLY that everybody vote you early and often. I may have suggested raises were on the line or I may not. I will just point out that it may not be a coincidence that Catherine says she's voting for you like it's her job.
Off to the polls right now!
The site must be getting slammed because it won't load. I've managed my dual interests by voting for one of you one day, and the other the next.
And I'll say it again - how is Go Fug Yourself a blog???
^^ ooo, good point, let's get them disqualified!
Silvia - an "underdog" is one who is at a disadvantage (say, for instance, against those incorrigible Fug Girls) and so you hope that they win, because their blog is funnier and more about fashion, rather than the "top dog" who always wins. the term originated at sporting events...
Winona - long time lurker, 1st time Daddy Likey blog voter! Almost 500 votes, not too shabby!
Awww thank you all so much for your support! And Silvia, I was just going to help you out with the underdogs thing, but it seems Laura has beaten me to it and done a much better job explaining it than I would have. Thanks Laura!
I would vote for you, but you really don't update often enough.
Laura,Winona - thank you for the answer!
Silvia
what an honor. i'm always for the underdog.
A very special popular fashion of women in Indian clothing is the Indian Sari and salwar-kameez. This popular Indian dress evolved as a comfortable and respectable garment for women in all India around Kashmir to kanya kumari. Though the majority of Indian women wear traditional Indian dresses, the men in India can be found in more conventional western clothing like shirts and trousers.
