Results of a Godless Childhood, Vol. 1

Yesterday I saw a church billboard that said, "Come walk the labyrinth and find enlightenment!" and I thought, "Finally, some due respect for Bowie as the Goblin King!"

p.s. This is my 500th post. Talk about anticlimactic...

Hmm, I lead a very God-filled life and I have no clue what ELSE that church sign could have been referring to. Gotta be Bowie -- Amen!

(Congrats on the milestone from someone up way too late "working" on an IR theory final!)

What? Anticlimactic?? And Labyrinth? Those two things do not belong together. The drama involved as the clock ticked to 13, Sarah finally starting to grow up and Bowie becoming more and more enamoured with bizarre fashions (last scene, check out that white fur thing!). How could that ever be a bad place to have a blog-iversary?

Did you see this?

AWESOME. No other words required.

David Bowie and his spandex pants were such an integral part of my childhood. Is there a better way to celebrate your 500th post than discussing Jareth the goblin king? I THINK NOT.

Happy 500th! :)

W,
This is the perfect way to celebrate your 500th! I love this movie and I love your blog...two things that I love have come together and created a perfect circle! THANK YOU!

bowie bless you.

To everyone who commented on Bowie's rad Goblin King style: I couldn't agree more! My friends and I talked about nothing but his dramatic bulge for a good year after we first saw this movie.

Enlightenment through Bowie makes sense to me!

I am laughing so hard - I can't imagine a better 500th post than this.

This is no laughing matter; this is reality for some of us, and I had a "God-filled" childhood.

I have only two things to say:

1) I adore David Bowie as Jareth and his STELLAR pants.

2) You remind me of the babe! (What babe?) The babe with the power. (What power?) Power of Voo-doo. (Hoo-Doo?) You do. (Do what?) Remind me of the babe! I saw my babe! Cryin hard as babe could cry.... etc etc...

*off to see Sarah save little Toby.*

Oh, I LOVE that movie! I thought you must be too much younger than I am to know it! How do you feel about "Legend?" I know, Tom Cruise, but - Tim Curry! As the devil! I love your blog, but I'm still linking to it from the defunct Faking Good Breeding, bc I just can't bring myself to type "daddy likey" into Google at work, sorry ;-).
PS I have walked a Labyrinth in college (the religious kind) and it's very nice, think more meditation than aimless wandering.
Keep up the great work!

Bowie to the 500th power!!! I thought I warped my kids by forcing them to watch this movie again and again and again.....but apparently...ahead of the curve.....Bowie in SkinTight Tights.....and a young Jennifer Connelly.....Bonus! Catchy ShowTunes to hum all day. (oh, this,The Neverending Story, and Legend= OG Matched Set)

OK, so I am aware that you posted this Blog like, ages ago and I am just now getting around to commenting, but I had to tell you something: I LOVED Labyrinth SO much as a kid that when I picked out my puppy, I subconciously picked one out that grew up to look like the character Sir Didymus. You're my MySpace pal Winona, go see for yourself in my pics!
